Calibration

Orbital Camera

Traditionally, LED display calibration relies on cameras equipped with specialized optical filters designed to mimic the human eye's color sensitivity. The light emitted by each LED, filtered through these optics and captured by a monochrome camera, directly yields LMS (Long, Medium, Short wavelength) values. These LMS values can then be mathematically converted into XYZ color space coordinates for a given PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) value. However, this method typically struggles to achieve color accuracy better than CIE (x, y) +/- 0.003.

To fully harness the precision offered by Deepsky's Variable Current technology, our team has engineered a groundbreaking calibration apparatus. This specialized tool, designed specifically for LED displays, employs a unique set of color filters. The result is a remarkable color measurement accuracy exceeding CIE (x, y) +/- 0.0007.
